Yong is still crazy & hasn't changed

Tonight I had a movie date with Yong. We had free tickets to a prescreening of the movie "Hot Rod". I had never heard of it, but hey - they were free tickets! So I meet Yong at the theater. I see her car pulling up & I start waving my hand out my window to her so she can park next to me. I immediately get embarrassed & roll up my window when I realize it isn't Yong! Oh wait...it was! What was different about her, I wonder?? So she gets out of her car & I just stare at her for a minute. Good thing I'm so observant. I must be getting better with age. The crazy Korean friend of mine decided to give herself bangs! If only she had started out with a small amount. If only she didn't make them so short. If only she had made them STRAIGHT. But I digress. They went 1/2 way back on her head like I had when I was in elementary school! They were short like I had my bangs last summer (where I did think they looked cute, but my boyfriend & sister AND YONG, mind you, sure laughed at me & made fun of me). And I was quite happy when Yong used this word to describe her new hairdo, so that I didn't have to. When she did use it, I was able to laugh heartily & agree with her. The word, in a nutshell, is: mullet.

First on the agenda of Angie & Yong is FOOD. We sit at a nice, quaint little table & share a pretzel with cheese. Yum! Then we see the line going in so we stop at the other concession stand & get an order of nachos & a hot dog for us to share, then she also gets a pickle & Twizzlers! I really wish I hadn't been so freakishly strong in college. I really wish I wouldn't think of myself as a "man" all the time (liking electronics, thinking I can hook up electronics, etc.). These 2 reasons are why I had to carry the TRAY with all our unhealthy food on it! (I need to back up a little to tell you that Yong came straight from work so she is in high heels & a skirt. I came from Yoga so I was wearing a wife-beater tank top & capris & flip flops). Before going into the actual theater room, there were 2 bouncer looking guys who had to look in our purses. One guy held the tray for me as the other looked in my purse with his flashlight (do any of you feel guilty when things like this happen, like you are doing something wrong? I do!). As the guy is handing me back the tray with at least $18 of food on it, I make a comment about how I was the lucky one to carry the tray. My loudmouth friend who has no filter for words (or maybe common sense?) (no, I'm not talking about Mina) says "that's b/c you are the man!". I got embarrassed & walked away. Never mind that we could have been a lesbo couple & she was dressed so lady-like & I was dressed like a butch! AAArrrgghh!

Next on the list of exciting things for the night was the movie & the drinking game I invented while watching it. The movie was really funny. That stupid kind of funny that I do really enjoy. I think they played the whole CD of Europe from the 80's. I remember my Daddy bought that tape for me all b/c he liked the song "Carrie". Just a month ago I taught my brother how to play the air keyboard to "The Final Countdown". So as you can see, the tape/CD is a real classic! Ok, back to the drinking game I invented. When you go to a movie with Yong, she REALLY gets into the movie. She started dancing & even twirling her Twizzler around to the great 80's music. And anytime something funny happens, she gives a great, hearty laugh. Here's where the drinking comes in. Every time she laughs, she turns & looks at me! Now I'm not sure if Yong reads my blog or not, so maybe the drinking game can be kept a secret from her & we can all suggest going to a comedy with her. I should have kept count of how many times I saw her out of the corner of my eye looking at me as she would laugh.

It was great times tonight & this weekend I think Yong & I will practice the 'cool beans' rap. You will understand once you see the movie "Hot Rod".

This paragraph is for Lindley only - OH MY GOSH! I'M SO HAPPY! Joe is gone & Evil Dick is Head of Household! I have already voted for America's Player to try to get Jen out of the house.

I'm hanging out with Yong this weekend, so that should make for another great blog entry on Monday. :)

A Weekend with the Family

So my little sis & I went to Graham this weekend to visit the parents, see their kitties, see Pepa, & go to the lake. First off I'd like to say YEA!! There was no rain to ruin our lake trip! :) That is very exciting, considering how much rain has fallen lately! It was great to be out on the lake with my mom & dad. My sis & I sat at the front of the boat & got thrown around when Dad got crazy & drove (?) the boat so fast over some of those big waves. Yes, I am a rebel & I'm crazy. For those of you that know me well (thank you, my fellow 5 committed readers) - you know i'm crazy. I define it. Ok, it's a lie. None of you believed me anyway. Here's a pic of Kim & me as we were making our way back to the dock.
My hair looks good, right? I again was the 1/32nd Choctaw girl & wore a French braid. It's my normal "lake look".

Now to my mom's kittens. Lucky for Kim & me (not!) we get to Graham 1 day after Callie & Casper get declawed. I got there about 3 hours after my mom & dad picked them up from the vet. Now this is a very mean procedure, but it is done to cats often & they soon forget about the pain. Yes, it was so sad to see the kittens meow & sleep & wince in pain when they walked. I have a pic of Callie kind of looking like a kangaroo, standing on her back legs. It's all just so sad. They just wanted to be held & not put down (understandably!).

Isn't she a cutie?? Anyway-imagine my mom focusing only on her 2 kittens & not on her 2 human daughters in town! I wasn't that concerned (I'm pretty sure deep down my mom loves me more than those cats!) except when a cat meowed while I was getting my hair braided & mom finished in about 5 seconds so she could run & pick up a cat again to comfort it (as my hair immediately started already falling out!). Kim wasn't so understanding. I tried explaining to her that she is now a middle child so she should get used to it & stop acting like the baby of the family. It's all in good fun. Today, 2 days after the surgery, the cats were a LOT better. Dad took off their bandages & they were walking like it was no big deal! :) Yea!! Below is a pic of Casper, Callie's brother. They are both just so little (I think mom said they are 15 weeks old) & so cute!

See? My lil sis can be loving & understanding! ;-)

So...for all you Big Brother fans out there (Lindley)...what do you think of Jen? "Bluck" is what I have to say! Do you ever read or make comments on the message board? I don't. I mean, I haven't today. I mean...yesterday or the day before I didn't. Whew!

I'm now officially jobless for the rest of the summer. Tomorrow I'm going to start on my first scrapbook! I'm pretty excited about it. It is going to be all about my #1 girl, the Chlo-meister! I'm also going to go shopping for clothes for Vegas. My summer vacation (I mean, my sis' wedding) is fast approaching! I'll also continue to go to Yoga 2 times a week.

I'm out of ideas to write about, but hope you were entertained with this post. I'll write more as I do more in life (haha).

Random Thoughts

I sure have been doing better than my gal Lindley lately in the Blogger department...I'm still waiting on her to create a new post on her blog...sigh...but I digress....

I have not seen my #1 boy, Mr. L, for 11 days now! He's been in NYC & will be there for at least 21 more days. But I'm not counting. :( Here's a picture of us from almost a year ago, at Mina's wedding. Oh how I miss those pearly white perfect teeth of his. Oh how I miss teaching him Spanish words he already knows. Oh how I miss telling him something so funny I sometimes have tears in my eyes as he stares at me with a look on his face, seeming to say "why are you so weird???". :) So it is Mr. L that I blame for my new subscription to Showtime. Now I can watch the people in the Big Brother house even more, & nightly! (Does anyone besides Lindley watch this?) I wish I would have known that Showtime sucks & they haven't been showing any great movies. I did find one movie from 1984 or so, that I've never seen the end of, from when I first watched it in 2000. (Does that even make sense?) Anyway-maybe I will watch that soon. I did record it. Have any of you seen "Bad Boys" with Sean Penn from back in the day? It's about "bad boys" at an alternative school. I wonder why I would like that movie...

I'm sure you are thinking I should get out of the house more. Well, I went to Yoga tonight (no one farted, thank goodness!). I keep trying to go to work, but that isn't my fault I'm not allowed to go. I keep thinking I should work out, but it is no fun to go all by myself!

I had a blast going out with Yong & Mina & Brad last Saturday night. We went to Tribeca & danced some & just hung out, like the good 'ol days. I decided to put in this picture because I like the look on Mina's face. I'm not sure what Yong & I are looking at, or what Mina is trying to explain to us, but she is quite cereal!!! The next day I got a glimpse of what it would be like to be homeless. Yong's cable isn't working in her new place yet, so we walked 2 doors down to Stan's apartment, knocked on his door, & asked nicely if we could watch his TV. While we were there, Yong complained it was hot, so Stan had to turn on the air (& I never heard Stan complain once!), but Yong did make a great breakfast for the 3 of us. I never miss out on Yong's cookin'!
I think I'm out of random thoughts for now. Until I can think of something to write about....enjoy reading this! (Hopefully I'll write more often than my gal Lindley does! Oops have I already mentioned that??? Love ya, Lin!)

4th of July

I spent the 4th of July with most of my college friends - the ones that live in Texas, at least! (I miss you Bethy!) I went to Melissa's house first to hang with her & of course see my "niece" Alex. Melissa & I made some cookies. I wish I would have taken a picture of her mixing the ingredients together, when all the batter was stuck together in the mixer...or when she was trying to put the dough from the shape of a ball into a flat piece with a thumbprint in the middle. It was good times! Then we all went to Nicole's house for her get together. Pregnant Melissa started the party when she reached for her water, all to freak out & spit it in the sink b/c she actually took a sip of Nicole's vodka with lime juice. That's the second time I've ever seen Melissa drink. The first time was at Yong's wedding when we did communion & she thought she was taking a sip of grape juice. Lucky for me, since I was next, she didn't spit the wine back into the thingie (what are they called?). Mina came to town, so that was nice. Yong did her normal thing of trying to pressure me to drink, which I declined since I was driving (when did I become SO responsible???). We finally pressured Nicole to do some dancing for us. Ronnie (Nicole's hubby) threw Yong into the pool (she had her bathing suit on, so it wasn't like she was fully clothed). I'm realizing now I should have had that camera out a lot more than I did! I missed some great shots! Below is a pic of all the girls.

On another note....have you ever been someplace where something was so funny to you but you had to be MATURE & not laugh? Never mind, Melissa, when you are at weddings & start laughing & can't stop. That's kind of where I'm going with this story. I was at Yoga on Tuesday & it was the last 5 minutes of class, where we lie on our back & meditate (I'm not sure I actually do that, but I am relaxing) before saying "namaste" & leaving. During this time, there is soft music playing, no one talks, we just lie there in peace. At this time, someone let one rip! I almost bust out laughing. This was so funny to me! I blame it on hanging out with 7th graders so often. (I do usually laugh when they make a fake farting sound with their mouth). Anyway-after this happened in Yoga, everyone still stayed so quiet. I was biting my lip & trying to control my breathing. I mean, how does one not do this during all the stretching & being on our backs with our legs in the air, being face down, sideways, whatever...but while we're lying there...I guess the poor person just couldn't keep it in. Wow! I was thinking if that were ME, I'd for sure laugh from embarrassment & have to leave the class. I was also sooooo glad Yong wasn't in that class with me, b/c I KNOW she'd laugh & that would make me laugh.

I'm going to spend the night with Yong & check out her new loft apartment this Saturday night. I'm sure we will get all dressed up for a night on the town. That will make for a good next blog entry, right??? :)

Everyone have a fun & safe weekend &, as Paris said on her myspace (I should really have her as a friend!), "if you are going to drink, have a designated driver!" :)
